Operating  principles

Rotor Pumpis also named rotary lobe pump, three-lobe pump, sole pump,etc. when the 2 simultaneous reverse rotating rotors(with 2-4 gears)revolve,it produces suction force at the inlet(vacuum),which intakes the material delivered. the 2 rotors divide the rotor housing into many smaller parts and revo-Ive in the sequence of a→b→c→d.When it revolves to position a ,only housing I is filled with medium, when it revolces to position c. housing A encloses medium,and finally it goes to position d,then housing A ,B and II are interlinked and the medium is transported o the putlet,As this process is repeated, medium(material) istranspor-ted continuously


Design and features

As the rotary lobe pump works, the spaces between the lobes and the casing are successively filled with fluid, which is transported to the discharge nozzle with a fixed amount of displacement. The pumped fluid forms a continuous stream thanks to the tolerances between the lobes and the pump casing, Thus ensuring an efficient pumping.

Since the pump's lobes do not come into contact with each other, lobe pumps can move solids suspended in slurries (such as cherries or olives in food processing applications) without product damage. The gentle pump action further minimizes product degradation. Can handle larger sized particles than may be pumped with other types of positive displacement pumps. May be easily cleaned using either clean-in-place (CIP) or steam-in-place (SIP) methods, making them ideal for hygienic processing applications. Highly efficient for pumping very viscous liquids. Offer accurate and consistent fluid output that is unaffected by changes in head pressure, assuming sufficient fluid viscosity. The fluid flow can be increased or decreased by controlling the drive speed. If wetted, rotary lobe pumps are also self-priming, and can run dry for long periods of time (assuming the pump's seals are lubricated). Generally easy to maintain.

When rotor pump feeding special thin medium, especially feeding thin medium without pulse as required, a big performance advantage can be shown. If the viscosity of the fed medium descends and leakage increases, driving system matched with rotor pump can improve the rotation speed and ensure the invariance of the output flux.

Heat Preservation Sleeve Design

Mechanical seal configuration with water cleaning function can be provided, preventing equipment normal operation on the end surface of the mechanical seal from coagulation during feeding high viscosity material, and the service life mechanical seal in bad environment can be ensured.


Almost Have No Quick-wear Parts

It doesn't have any damage on the part during the rotor pump is operating (except mechanical seal), all parts contacting with material is made of stainless steel. A pair of rotors run synchronically during operating in a space with each other, no contact, it won't be any damage in theory, the rotor pump can work at temperature of 220ºC in all environments.


Choose The Driving System
Motor+fixed relative ratio speed reducer:the driving is easy with cons-tant rotary speed of the rotor,which also leads to nonadjustablity of flow Motor+mechanical abrasive stepless speed regulator:the speed regulator changes the speed by manual adjustment,which is safe,reliable and infinitive flow adjustment.But thenon-automatic adjustment is also troublesome. Speed regulating should be done in operation not in shutoff state. Pleasereferto manufacturer instruction for maintenance and servic. Frequency transformed motor+frequency transformer:it realizes both automatic adjusting and infinitive adjustment of flow.It is highly automatic and has large torque in low speed.But the frequency transformer is expensive. ase refer to manufacturer instruction for maintenance and service.

Working Principle

This cam lobe pump is a multi-purpose transfer pump which adopts two-lobe, tri-lobe, butterfly or multi-lobe rotor. As a sanitary volumetric delivery pump, it has the characteristics of low speed, high output torque, high temperature resistance, corrosion resistance, etc. Its unique working principle and characteristics are embodied in conveying high viscosity, high temperature, and highly corrosive materials. Its conveying process is smooth and continuous, and it can ensure that the physical properties of the materials are not broken during the conveying process, and the viscosity of the conveyable materials can be up to 1,000,000 CP.

The rotor pump has two synchronously reversed rotors (2-4 teeth).When they rotate, there is suction (vacuum) generated at the inlet to suck in the material to be transported. The two rotors divide the rotor chamber into several small pieces. In the space, they operate in the order a→b→c→d.When operating to position a, only chamber I is filled with media;At location b, part of the medium is enclosed in room B;At position c, the medium is also enclosed in chamber A;At position d, Room B and Room A communicates with Chamber II, and the media is conveyed to the discharge port.In this way, the medium (material) is continuously sent out.      


Different Kind of Lobe Options for the Rotor Lobe Pump
1.Single Lobed Rotor: More suitable for conveying media which containing large granular materials. The breaking rate of large granular materials is low. But on other hand it is not popular one for used, Because its pulsation is large and pressure is low, also the volume is small for the space of transferred materials.

2. Two-Lobed Rotor (Butterfly Rotor) More suitable for conveying media which containing small and medium-size granular materials. The breaking rate to these materials is low and getting slightly pulsating. The volume is a little less than three-lobed rotor for the space of transferred materials.

3.Three-Lobed Rotor It is widely used one rotor. The volume is bigger than other type of rotors for the space of transferred materials. Also each performance is higher than other rotors. Just it has a certain rate of breakage to the particulate materials on the transport way.


4.Multi-Lobed Rotor(4-12) The volume is more smaller for the space of transferred materials and breaking rate more higher when the quantity of rotary vane of rotor be increased, . Just the transport way more stable.
